Rabbit pie?

Ellie gave up taking a day time nap well before her second birthday….. She may well think she doesn’t need the sleep, but this mama knows she still needs some down time. For that reason we give her a ‘quiet time’ every lunchtime…. Or rather, try to! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but there are always toys in her crib to help keep her entertained at this time, in an attempt for success. The photos below are the sight I found when I went in to get her this afternoon.
My initial thoughts are one of the following:
1. She really is fed up with quiet time and is expressing her frustration on one of her favorite snugly toys, or
2. She’s trying to tell me she wants rabbit pie for dinner?!

I’ll let you decide! I’m really not sure what this poor little faithful companion ever did to deserve such radical treatment!!

This little girl LOVES to accessorize and read books. Put the 2 together and you’re in Charlie heaven!

Ellie is so good with Oliver. I wish I’d taken video of this. It was soooo sweet. Ellie reading to Oliver from her all time favorite book. Her bible!

Gotta learn early

Daddy coaching Oliver early in Wii soccer….. It’s important stuff you know, as well as good Daddy son time!

Ellie and I had fun this afternoon making another wreath for our front door. We replaced the leaf wreath, with a glittery colorful Christmas version.
Once I got the tubes of ball balls (from the dollar store!) Ellie was gushing with ‘ooh’s’ and ‘ahh’s’, and ‘wow mum, aren’t the lovely’ comments. She loves getting crafty and we both had fun doing this together this afternoon, threading cheap ornaments onto and old wire cost hanger, covering ourselves in glitter during the process! It’s our first Christmas decoration to go up this year, and I love that Ellie had a big part in making it happen!
